Kate Marland is the new Executive Director of FSUC
The Board of the Free Speech Union of Canada is excited to announce that Kate Marland will be assuming the role of Executive Director of FSUC, effective August 4, 2026.
Kate is a lawyer, the deputy editor of Without Diminishment, and an accomplished orchestral musician. She brings to the position a wealth of experience and enthusiasm for our civilization and the fundamental freedoms on which it is built.
Kate has accepted the challenge of leading FSUC through the next chapter of its development and amplifying our reach and impact. We are all looking forward to working with her to achieve this.
Donations are needed and welcome, particularly as Canada begins a more determined march toward a culture of censorship.

Lisa Bildy, our inaugural executive director, continues as a member of the Board of Directors. Having accomplished her goal of getting FSUC up and running, she is stepping back to be able to commit more time to her law practice, Libertas Law. We thank her for her dedication and longstanding leadership in the fight for freedom in Canada, as well as her ongoing involvement in FSUC.
Help Kate get this new chapter for FSUC off to a healthy start. Please donate now!
